Code of Conduct

Introduction and Purpose

At Star Elements, we are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, inclusive, and professionally focused learning environment for every student, parent, tutor, and staff member. This Code of Conduct establishes the standards of behavior expected from all parties when engaging with Star Elements and its Services, including our digital learning and testing portal at www.starelements.ai and our tutoring platform at www.starelements.ai.

All live tutoring is delivered exclusively through approved online video platforms. No in-person sessions are conducted or permitted under any circumstances. This Code applies to all interactions connected to Star Elements including Digital Portal activities, online sessions, written communications, and emails.

Tutor Standards

3.1 Engagement

Tutors at Star Elements may be employed or independently contracted as permissible by applicable law. All tutors are bound by a separate agreement with Star Elements. The standards in this section reflect what students and parents can expect from every Star Elements tutor.

3.2 Session Conduct

• Tutors must be fully prepared for every session, having reviewed the student's profile, subject needs, and prior session notes before the session begins.
• Tutors must be ready to begin at the scheduled session start time.
• Tutors must notify Star Elements in advance if they need to cancel or reschedule a session.
• Tutors must complete session notes promptly after every session.

3.3 Communication

• All communication with students and parents must be through Star Elements-approved channels only.
• Tutors must never use profanity, offensive language, or inappropriate humor in any interaction with students or parents.
• Tutors must maintain a positive and encouraging tone at all times.

3.4 Instruction

• Tutors must deliver instruction in the applicable SAT, ACT, or AP subject area using evidence-based teaching methods. Tutors may use Star Elements-provided materials, their own supplementary materials, or a combination, provided all content is appropriate, accurate, and compliant with applicable platform guidelines.
• Tutors must accurately represent what is and is not tested on relevant exams.
• Tutors must not make guarantees to students or parents about specific score improvements.

3.5 Digital Portal

• Tutors must not access, administer, or review a student's starelements.ai Digital Portal account or progress data unless specifically authorized in writing by Star Elements.

Boundaries & Professional Relationships

4.1 No Contact Outside the Platform

• Tutors must never share personal contact information with students or parents.
• Tutors must never contact students or parents through personal messaging, social media, or any unapproved platform.
• Any out-of-platform contact attempt must be reported to info@starelements.net promptly.

4.2 No In-Person Contact

4.3 No Private Financial Arrangements

• Tutors must not accept any payment, gift, or financial benefit directly from students or parents.
• Tutors must not offer private tutoring services to Star Elements students outside of the Star Elements platform.

4.4 Romantic and Personal Relationships

Student Safety & Safeguarding

• Tutors must immediately report to Star Elements any disclosure or suspicion of abuse, neglect, self-harm, suicidal ideation, substance use, or any other safeguarding concern.
• Tutors must never share details of one student with another student under any circumstances.
• Tutors must never record a session without prior written consent from Star Elements and the student's parent or guardian.

Prohibited Tutor Conduct

The following behaviors result in immediate termination and may result in legal action:

• Any form of physical, verbal, emotional, psychological, or sexual abuse or harassment toward a student, parent, or Star Elements staff member
• Soliciting students for private tutoring services outside the Star Elements platform
• Recording sessions without prior written consent
• Sharing or distributing any student information or Star Elements confidential business information
• Misrepresenting qualifications, credentials, or teaching experience
• Using profanity, hate speech, discriminatory language, or sexually explicit language in any interaction
• Unauthorized access to any student's Digital Portal account or data
• Engaging in, promoting, or facilitating any illegal activity of any kind

Student Standards of Conduct

7.1 Attendance and Punctuality

• Students must log into their session on time and be ready to begin at the scheduled start time.
• Cancellations must be made through the Star Elements platform in accordance with the Refund Policy.

7.2 Respect and Inclusion

Students must engage with all tutors with equal respect regardless of background. Discriminatory or disrespectful comments of any kind will result in immediate suspension.

• Students must treat their tutor with courtesy and respect at all times.
• Students must never use profanity, offensive, or discriminatory language toward a tutor or Star Elements staff.

7.3 Academic Integrity

• Students must not ask tutors to complete practice tests, assignments, essays, or any graded work on their behalf.
• Students must not use the Digital Portal in ways that facilitate academic dishonesty.
• Star Elements supports honest learning and will not facilitate academic dishonesty in any form.

7.4 Appropriate Use of Technology (Live Sessions)

• Students must access sessions from a device with a working camera and microphone. Camera must remain on throughout the session.
• Students must not use their phone, browse unrelated websites, or play games during a session.
• No party may record sessions without prior written consent.

7.5 Appropriate Use of the Digital Portal (www.starelements.ai)

• Students must access the Digital Portal using only their own Star Elements account credentials. Sharing credentials with friends, classmates, siblings, parents, or anyone else is strictly prohibited — each student needs their own individual account.
• Students must not use the Star Elements platform to cheat on the SAT, ACT, AP exams, or any other official or proctored examination administered by the College Board, ACT Inc., a school, or any other testing organization.
• Students must not upload, share, copy, or distribute copyrighted exam content owned by College Board, ACT Inc., AP, or other testing organizations — this includes actual exam questions, answer keys, reading passages, and scoring rubrics from past or upcoming administrations.
• Students must not use the Skye AI tutor or any other AI assistance on starelements.ai during a real proctored examination. Our AI features are for practice and study only; using them during an official exam may constitute exam misconduct under the testing organization’s rules.
• Students must not impersonate another student, tutor, parent, or any other person when using the Digital Portal.
• Students must not misuse AI features to generate content that violates this Code, including content intended to facilitate academic dishonesty.
• Students must not attempt to manipulate, circumvent, or exploit the adaptive testing or assessment systems to achieve artificial results.
• Students must not screenshot, record, share, or distribute Digital Portal content, assessments, or practice questions.
• Students must not use unauthorized aids during timed digital assessments unless explicitly permitted by the assessment instructions.
• Any attempt to reverse-engineer or bypass the security of starelements.ai is strictly prohibited and may result in permanent account termination and legal action.

Parent & Guardian Standards of Conduct

8.1 Supportive Involvement

• Parents and guardians are encouraged to review session notes and Digital Portal progress reports.
• Parents must communicate changes in the student's academic needs, school schedule, or test dates to Star Elements.
• Parents of students under 13 are required to maintain parental consent for Digital Portal use per COPPA requirements.

8.2 Respectful Communication

• Parents and guardians must communicate with Star Elements and tutors with respect and professionalism at all times.
• Aggressive, threatening, or harassing communication directed at any tutor or Star Elements staff will result in immediate termination of services.
• Constructive feedback and concerns should be directed to info@starelements.net.

8.3 Non-Interference

• Parents and guardians must not interrupt or join sessions in a way that disrupts the learning environment without prior arrangement.
• If a parent has a concern about a session, tutor, or the Digital Portal, the appropriate channel is info@starelements.net.

8.4 Digital Portal Supervision

• Parents are encouraged to monitor their student's use of starelements.ai to ensure appropriate and honest engagement.
• Parents must not complete Digital Portal assessments or activities on behalf of their student.

8.5 Commercial Matters

• All questions about pricing, billing, refunds, and additional purchases must be directed to info@starelements.net or support@starelements.net.
• Parents must not attempt to negotiate pricing or arrange additional services directly with a tutor.

No Direct Contact Between Students/Parents and Tutors

• Do not ask tutors for personal contact information or connect with them on any social media platform.
• Do not arrange sessions, payments, or any activities directly with a tutor outside the Star Elements platform.
• Do not attempt to arrange any in-person meetings with tutors for any reason.

Zero Tolerance Policies

The following behaviors will result in immediate and permanent termination across both portals without warning, without refund, and may be reported to relevant law enforcement or child protection authorities:

• Any form of sexual misconduct, exploitation, or grooming behavior toward a student or minor
• Any form of physical violence or credible threats of violence toward any person
• Any attempt to access, distribute, or share child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• Any behavior that endangers the physical, psychological, or digital safety of a student
• Any use of either Star Elements platform to facilitate illegal activity
• Any hate speech, racial slurs, or discriminatory conduct
• Any attempt to blackmail, extort, or coerce any person
• Any conduct constituting criminal harassment or stalking under applicable law

Reporting Violations

Star Elements encourages all tutors, students, and parents to report any suspected violation promptly and without fear of retaliation.

All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality. Star Elements will acknowledge receipt within 48 hours and investigate promptly and thoroughly. Retaliation against any person who makes a good faith report is itself a violation of this Code.

Consequences of Violations

• Written warning
• Mandatory review meeting with Star Elements management
• Temporary suspension of access to one or both portals
• Permanent termination of services with no refund, including forfeiture of remaining prepaid package hours
• Termination of a tutor's agreement with immediate effect
• Reporting to relevant law enforcement or child protection agencies
• Legal action to recover damages where applicable

Tutor Acknowledgment

Having reviewed this policy, I agree that I have read and understood the Star Elements Code of Conduct in its entirety and agree to abide by all provisions as a condition of my engagement with Star Elements.

Parent / Guardian Acknowledgment

As a parent or guardian of the student, I have read and understood the Star Elements Code of Conduct and agree to abide by all provisions on behalf of myself and my student, including our use of www.starelements.ai.

Changes to This Policy

Star Elements reserves the right to update this Code of Conduct at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Active tutors and enrolled students will be notified by email of any material changes. Continued use of Star Elements services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Code.
